HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Nov. 10, 2022) – Five efforts to benefit the Lakeshore are getting a boost from the Community Foundation of the Holland/Zeeland Area.
The CFHZ board announced its first round of responsive grants totaling nearly $145,000, with funds going to the Harbor Humane Society’s Community Outreach Management effort, the Gateway Mission’s Gateway Spoon Cafe and Grill, a New Teacher Support Series by Opportunity Thrive, Ready for School’s Summer Kindergarten Readiness Camp expansion, and a Youth Advocacy and Leadership Program from Disability Network Lakeshore.
Colleen Hill, Vice President of Development and Donor Services with the Community Foundation, explained what was once known as the competitive grant program is all about.
The Community Foundation is currently accepting applications for its proactive grant program, which will target funding efforts for increasing mental health services, addressing the education opportunity gap, and improving parent/adult relationships with youngsters. The first round of those grant winners should be announced by year’s end.
